Tour de France
The Tour de France attracts many spectators, and of them 39 percent come to watch the publicity caravan, an amazing spectacle that precedes the race. The race sponsors publicity vehicles race through the villages and towns as crowds line the route, throwing out goodies such as keyrings, hats and pens. After the publicity caravan passes through the sound of helicopters with film crews grows ever closer, Gendarmes on motorbikes and the support cars pass by next. Then in a “blink and you will miss it” moment the cycles race past, followed again by more Gendarmes and support vehicles. Many of the towns and village the race passes through have other festivities going on throughout the day in celebration.
